About The Cosmetic Practice

The Cosmetic Practice was established in 2003 by sisters Carole Cook and Julie Cook,  with the aim to offer specialised cosmetic treatments, cosmetic surgery and professional skincare products.

Based in Sunderland, in the North East of England we are dedicated to advanced skincare and offer the latest advice, research and technologies that will empower you to make the right choice when deciding what skincare to use.

In 2010 The Cosmetic Practice launched our new look website In order to take our expertise to a worldwide audience and now ship all over the world to countries such as Denmark, Australia, USA and China (to name a few).

About the Staff

The company is headed by Carole Cook, RN, MBA, who trained in Harley Street, London, before setting up The Cosmetic Practice.

Julie Cook is the skincare expert, having previously worked for Molton Brown, she is fully trained in Neostrata skincare the market leaders in the use of glycolic and lacto bionic acids, Jan Marini skincare, the celebrity's choice,  and has comprehensive knowledge of all our brands and skincare conditions and concerns.

Layla Marshall is the website manager, adding new ranges, keeping the website updated and writing the blogs.

We work in conjuction with two doctors, consulting with them for more specific skincare concerns.

Dr Matt Erdmann MBBCh FRCS(Eng) FRCS(Plast) CCSTPlastic, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgeon has been a practising Consultant Plastic Surgeon since 1998. He consults and carries out Cosmetic Surgery at the SPIRE Washington Hospital 10 miles north of Durham, UK. He qualified MBBCH from the University of the Witwatersrand, and subsequently obtained his FRCS(Eng) Surgical diploma in the UK followed by the FRCS(Plast) Intercollegiate diploma specialising in Plastic Surgery. He practises as a Consultant in the NHS at both the University Hospital of North Durham and Sunderland Royal Hospitals, and is Clinical Director within the Department of Plastic Surgery in both.

Dr Steven Coates is the Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist City Hospital Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and qualified in 2000.

The products we sell are professional cosmecuticals, which means unlike regular cosmetics, made simply to moisturise and beautify the skin; cosmecutical skincare products actually change the structure of the skin to make it healthier and more radiant.
